In response to the recent outbreak of new strains of H5N2 and H5N8 bird flu, the Council of Agriculture (COA) announced yesterday that farmers affected by the outbreaks will be subsidized for their losses.

為因應近期爆發的新型禽流感，農委會昨天宣布將補償受災農民的損失。

The council will subsidize 60 percent of farmers' livestock that died due to the epidemic, while 100 percent of the value of livestock culled by order of the council will be subsidized.

農委會將補助因流感喪生的家畜損失金額的60%，並將全額補償為因應法規而撲殺的家禽之損失。
