《用字選擇》say & tell
這兩個字看似簡單，但要用得正確還是需要點小學問的。
say是”用文字或話語表達某事”，是說話者自己情感或意見的抒發
後面可接
1. 引用文字 例如: He said, 'Let's go!'
2. something/anything/nothing/so 例如: Did you say something?
3. that+表達的內容 例如: He said that he was tired. (“that”在口語中可省略)
Tell則是”有目的之溝通或傳達”，是說話者為了要達到某種目的而必須要傳達給聽話者知道
例如:
tell a story, a joke, a lie, or the truth
I wish someone had told me the meeting was canceled.
I'll tell you all about it when I get back

《用字選擇》run & jog
跑步這項運動在台灣越來越受歡迎，但在用英文表達這個意思的時候大家常搞不清楚該用 "run" 還是 "jog" 來表達。
run 的意思為"用雙腿極快速的移動"，同時也有"賽跑"的意思。所以run帶有快速、急迫及競賽的涵意。
jog的意思為"慢速、較長時間持續地跑步"
所以一般人常做的慢跑運動應該是選用 "jog" 比較恰當
Ex. I go jogging every morning.
而run常用來表達因趕時間而急跑或參加賽跑、練跑等意思
Ex. I ran down the stairs as fast as I could.
Ex. Murray has said she will consider running the marathon.

disease,illness, sickness 這三個字有什麼不一樣呢?

英文裡面關於「疾病」最常用的名詞大概就是：disease, illness, sickness這三個了。但其中有什麼不同呢？就讓我們一起來瞧瞧。
disease通常用來指稱具有傳染性，或是特定器官的病變。
✔Rabies is an infectious disease that you can catch if you are bitten by infected animals.
✔He has suffered from heart disease for years.
illness 通常用來強調生病的狀態。
✔Stress can lead to mental illness.
sickness 除了可用來表示生病狀態外，也常用於描述噁心、想吐的情況。

1. 當我們要表達”講述某事”的時候，這兩者都可以使用。但是talk比較常在日常對話中使用，而speak則比較常用在書面形式。
✔ She talked/spoke about her job.
✔ Don’t interrupt me when I’m talking/speaking.
2. 如果是表達”聊天或交談”，就只能用talk
✔ We talked about our plans for the future.
3. Talk表示”天生的說話能力”
✔ My daughter could talk before she was two.
4. speak表示”在特定場合說話的能力”或”說外語的能力”
✔ He is not afraid to speak in public.
✔She speaks English and German.
5. 電話中的”找誰”用speak
